Richmond to Host Transatlantic Higher Education Roundtable
Author: Richmond American University London
Richmond will be hosting a timely roundtable discussion bringing together higher education practitioners and academics to examine the growing political and policy pressures facing universities on both sides of the Atlantic.
Who’s Afraid of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion? The Transatlantic Politics of Higher Education Reform
Higher Education (HE) systems in both the United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) are undergoing significant political and policy shifts that threaten to continue and exacerbate. This event brings together HE practitioners and academic expertise to explore how recent developments in the US may signal broader changes for the UK sector. Drawing on Richmond’s unique transatlantic position and exposure to contemporary US policy developments, the discussion will consider implications for governance, funding, academic freedom, and institutional strategy on both sides of the Atlantic in an increasingly uncertain policy-political landscape.
Join us for a timely and important conversation on the future of HE in person or online for a roundtable discussion featuring:
- Professor Kelly Coate, Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Richmond, American University London
- Professor Phil Deans, President and Vice Chancellor, Richmond, American University London
- Annette Hay, Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, De Montford University
