Richmond Professor running workshop for Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

Author: Richmond American University London

Dr Carola Hieker, Professor for Organisational Behaviour and Leadership at Richmond American University London, is running two workshops on the topic of Leadership as part of an new online Entrepreneurship Bootcamp launched by Professors Without Borders (Prowibo) in September.

Thanks to a new partnership between Prowibo and Ford Credit, 60 students will learn the skills to build a business and pitch for success. Most of these students are from Prowibo’s partner universities in Nigeria and Uganda. After the workshops, students will take part in a pitching competition judged by a panel of executives from Ford.

Professors Without Borders aims to make quality higher education opportunities available for students around the world. Richmond American University London has been partnered with the social enterprise since 2018 and Dr Hieker has been a frequent collaborator on its programmes. Professors Without Borders is led by co-founder Dr Caroline Varin, herself a former Richmond professor.

Dr Hieker said, “I’m delighted to be supporting Professors Without Borders through this Bootcamp, it’s an incredible cause. Many of the students who will be attending it aspire to work in entrepreneurship, often developing a little business on the side of their day job. I’m aiming to provide them with some advice on Leadership which will help them learn essential skills in building a business strategy.”
