Richmond is committing to physical and mental health with Health and Wellness Week, 22nd-26th Novem…

Author: Richmond American University London

This week, Richmond is offering a variety of different ways for students to recuperate from the stress of the day-to-day and get active, socially, mentally, and physically.

Kicking off the week, students will take over the Student Affairs Instagram to show off all the different ways that they are staying active and healthy.

On Tuesday, Richmond’s Reception will host puppies to help lead students through therapy. If the puppies are a little too exciting, students will be able to head over to the library to grab some coffee and cake with the Baking Society.

To calm down after the day’s work, tune into a virtual yoga & meditation session on zoom.

On Wednesday, Richmond Art Society will hold a ‘crafternoon’ in the library or if students want something more active, they will be able to push themselves through a boot camp class on the campus lawn.

The Richmond Psychology Association will host a Thursday book reading by Richmond’s own Professor George Berguno.

The week’s events will finish on Friday night with a pizza and movie night in the common room!

The focus of this week is to underline the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body. The fight for mental and physical wellness isn’t won in a week and therefore Richmond is committed to providing support for students throughout the year. There are lots of ways for students can reach out and receive support for whatever they may be struggling with, including:

  • We offer students six free counselling sessions a semester
  • Students have access to the UK’s award-winning crisis intervention line, students who need support out of hours can call Nightline and receive immediate help: (+44) 207 631 0101
  • We also offer a resource created by Student Minds called Student Space

Please contact Belinda Bains for more details: [email protected].
