You are here: Home1 / News & Events2 / News3 / Richmond Theatre chosen to host the 2026 Graduation ceremony

The 2026 graduation ceremony at Richmond American University London will take place on Sunday 28 June at the iconic Richmond Theatre.

Graduands are asked to arrive as early as 9:30am for gowning and photography, but will receive a message from the graduation team about their unique arrival time. The ceremony will begin at 12pm.

Guests may arrive to check in and get their wristbands from 10am, and the hall will be open 30 minutes before the event starts. Seating is first come, first served.

Following the ceremony, there will be a small reception for graduates and guests to celebrate their achievements together at 1:30pm. Further information on timing and itinerary can be found on the Student Affairs Team’s regularly updated webpage.

The Richmond Theatre is a historic, grade II-listed Victorian building that has been open since 1899. it seats 840 and hosts over 40 productions annually, including pre-West End dramas, musicals, and family entertainment. It recently featured in Ted Lasso, made popular by Apple TV, and as a receiving house, features high-end productions such as The Shawshank Redemption, Agatha Christie’s The Hollow, The Silence of the Lambs and I’m Sorry, Prime Minister. It’s currently operated by ATG and is supported by the Richmond Theatre Trust charity.

The Theatre’s location is pleasant with a green area just outside to the front, enjoyed by locals and visitors, and walking distance to quality restaurants, shops and cafes in the Richmond area. Richmond station is just 3-5 minutes’ walk, connecting to the District Line and Southwestern Railway.

Students and alumni who have studied programmes in Communications and the Arts, Applied Liberal Arts or Humanities and Social Sciences may already be familiar with the Theatre as the University organises occasional field trips, community projects and visits occasionally as part of learning and teaching.

Graduands and participants will receive specific timings and details for the event, and questions can be directed to the Office of Student Affairs team at [email protected]. The event will be streamed live using Youtube from 12pm on the day. The university wishes congratulations and success to all graduates for 2026.
