On Thursday 21 May, Inma Ramos, Director of the Institute for Corporate Sustainability attended a Climate Fresk workshop, marking an exciting step in Richmond’s commitment to sustainability education.
Climate Fresk is a collaborative, hands-on workshop grounded in the science of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Participants work together to connect 42 illustrated cards, building a cause-and-effect map of the climate system – from the burning of fossil fuels through to the very real human consequences already unfolding across the globe. Requiring no prior knowledge and taking around three hours, it transforms complex climate science into something accessible, engaging, and genuinely thought-provoking for anyone who takes part.
From the start of the next academic year, Climate Fresk sessions will be offered to students, faculty, and staff at Richmond, giving the whole community the opportunity to build a shared understanding of the climate crisis and what it means for us all.
