What is the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship?

The Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship is intended to recognise academic excellence, at Richmond and beyond.

Students who receive this scholarship will benefit from smaller class sizes, our diverse international community of scholars, and networking opportunities with community and industry professionals.

Who is eligible for the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship?

The Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship is for new, postgraduate students who have completed a first-class degree or international equivalent.

  • For UK or Home fee-paying students, this could be equivalent to a First-class degree.
  • For US and international fee-paying students, this could be equivalent to a 3.7GPA or higher.

How do I apply for the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship?

No application is necessary. If you have received an offer to study on any postgraduate programme, beginning from September 2026, will be automatically assessed to see if you quality for this 15% reduction in tuition fee.

Terms and Conditions

What are the Terms and Conditions of receiving the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship?

All scholarships at Richmond American University London are awarded with terms and conditions for receiving a scholarship or award. When you accept your scholarship offer, you agree to these terms and conditions as well as your student contract – all are sent to you at the time of your offer of a place on one of our degree programmes.

To be eligible to receive this scholarship, you must meet the entry requirements to the programme and have completed an undergraduate degree, UK first class or the international equivalent of this (equivalent to a 3.7GPA or higher).

Are there any circumstances that might affect this scholarship?

Currently the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award is based upon current fees. The university also reserves the right to adjust the value, volume and criteria of its scholarships should fees change.

The University will still endeavour to provide scholarships that provide students value for money and help students reduce student fee debt.

Can I receive other funding along with this scholarship? TBC

You may be eligible to receive this award along with loans from Student Finance England (SFE) or other personal funding options. The final calculation excludes SFE interest and is based on 48 months & 36 months comparison, it is acknowledged that universities will vary with start and completion times.

What are the requirements for maintaining the Master’s Recognition of Excellence Award Scholarship as a student?

All scholarships at Richmond American University London are awarded with terms and conditions for maintaining your award as a student. When you accept your scholarship offer, you agree to these terms and conditions as well as your student contract – both are sent to you at the time of your offer of a place on one of our degree programmes.

To main this scholarship, you are expected to:

  • remain in good standing as a student, and
  • make a positive contribution to university life.
What does it mean to make a positive contribution to university life at Richmond and why is this important?

Research indicates that students who are involved in their academic community are high achievers, develop more skills and are more confident and articulate people. Engaging in the activities we outline here also results in a more positive, fulfilling student experience.

Planning and tracking your involvement is really easy and is managed through the University’s Careers Portal operated by the Student Affairs Office.

  • Volunteering for five hours a semester on one of the following:
    • Student Ambassadors
    • Student Representation
    • Student Leadership
    • Participating or running Clubs and Societies
    • Working on Campus
    • Working in the community
    • Local volunteering
  • Take part in the Richmond Leadership Academy, and complete the Bronze Award as a minimum.
