Our students’ wellbeing and happiness is the most important thing to us here at Richmond. That’s why we wanted to get their opinions on just what this campus move means to them. Some students were asked about their favourite aspects of the new campus, here is what they had to say.
“I like the more modern setting. It’s a beautiful building and the surrounding area is just as nice. It truly is a lovely place to study and meet new people.”
– Arin, BA Psychology, first year student
“I think that the Chiswick Park Campus has been a great change for Richmond University. It offers so many new opportunities for students in terms of internships and jobs, but also in terms of learning. Also, as someone who wants to work in the creative field, I think that the creative energy around having classes in film studios which were used previously by Disney is inspiring.”
– Ashton, BA Communications: Advertising & PR first year student

From January 2023, all of our students will be based in a new campus building within the innovative and award-winning Chiswick Park in west London – a perfect setting for the UK’s pioneering liberal arts university.
To give you a sense of everything our new location has to offer, here’s six reasons why we love our campus building.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new home.
Student Focused
Everything about this state of the art campus building has been designed with students in mind. With input from students, faculty and staff on the interior design process, the end result is a fantastic learning environment, with flexible teaching and learning spaces, including student study areas with opportunities for collaborative work and the latest learning technologies. There is also a Student Services Hub, a library offering further student study space, a café and other social spaces.
It’s the ideal location to deliver our mission to educate and inform future generations of students, providing them with greater diversity, choice and freedom.
Location, location, location
Chiswick Park is set in beautiful parkland complete with a lake, waterfall and canopied boardwalks, designed by internationally renowned and award-winning architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners (Pompidou Centre, Paris, Lloyds of London).
Students and staff will benefit from learning and teaching in a diverse and vibrant community with a gym, cafes, bars and restaurants, music festivals and art events.
There are excellent transportation connections with three underground stations in a 20-minute walk, fast links to Heathrow and into central London, providing easy access to everything the world’s number one student city in the world can offer – learning and employment opportunities, shops, museums, attractions and sporting and cultural events.
Employment opportunities
Our pioneering liberal arts education will both benefit from and contribute to the life of the Park, and allow connections to develop with local and global businesses, creating extensive opportunities for students to take internships and gain invaluable work experience. Our diverse, ambitious students want to make a difference and take on responsibilities and challenges: Chiswick Park gives them the opportunity to be creative and thrive.
Sustainability
We are committed to improving the environmental impact of the University and Chiswick Park is the perfect location to help us do that. With sustainability as one of its key objectives, Chiswick Park has been developed for people rather than vehicles. Its excellent transportation links mean that it’s easy to access by tube and train. Eco-friendly forms of transport such as cycling are encouraged with the availability of bike racks, both for short-term and long-term bike parking. Chiswick Park also has its own ‘Cycle Hub’ with over 800 secure spaces across the site in Cycle Hub cages and students and staff can hire Brompton bikes (both push and electric) from the Park.
The campus building features extensive natural light and ventilation which, together with a displacement heating and cooling system, significantly reduces the requirement for air-conditioning. In addition, all of the energy used at Chiswick Park is sourced from renewable energy suppliers.
Diversity & internationalism
Richmond is committed to living by the motto of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and our new location in the heart of cosmopolitan Chiswick will bring this commitment alive. It’s a vibrant and diverse part of London, from the shops and restaurants of bustling Chiswick High Road to the riverside charm of Strand-on-the-Green.
Our international students and staff provide us with a global outlook which is reflected in the local community and the international organisations based in the area. Chiswick Park is home to some of the world’s leading companies, including Pepsico, Vue International, Ericsson, Starbucks, CBS and Discovery, to name but a few.
Great student accommodation
With a great option for student accommodation, based at iQ Haywood House in West Hampstead and managed by iQ Student Accommodation, this will also feature our award-winning student support system including Resident Assistants (RAs) and Resident Directors (RDs), who provide support and advice for students.
