Richmond Professor awarded prestigious guest editorship

Author: Richmond American University London

Dr Afsane Riazi, Associate Professor at Richmond, has been appointed as guest editor in a special issue to be published next year in the Journal of Personalized Medicine, an international, peer-reviewed journal published monthly online.

Entitled, ‘Towards Personalized Interventions for Health and Wellbeing’ the special edition edited by Dr Riazi will focus on the science of personalised interventions, especially in the context of mental health and wellbeing, showcasing some of the latest findings in this field.  The Journal is calling for papers to be submitted before 2 October 2022 for this special issue.

It’s a topic which is close to Dr Riazi’s research interests, having obtained her PhD in Health Psychology examining the role of individual differences in psychological stress in people with Type 1 diabetes. Since then, Dr Riazi has used both quantitative and qualitative research methods to understand the impact of a person’s physical health on their well-being and quality of life, using psychological interventions to improve outcomes. Her research encompasses a wide range of people across various life stages, such as children and adolescents, adults with long-term conditions and residents in care homes.
