It’s another ACCA exemption for our Accounting & Finance programme

Author: Richmond American University London

Good news! Students on our BSc Accounting and Finance programme with Richmond Business School will now be eligible to gain another exemption from ACCA papers, taking the total from eight to nine.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body for professional accountants which was founded in 1904 and provides gold standard qualifications in accountancy, opening doors to highly respected, interesting work in any sector.

The latest ACCA paper to be added to the exemptions for Richmond students is Financial Management, which joins the other ACCA papers – Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Audit and Assurance.

Dr Tahsin Ozalan, Associate Professor and Programme Director on the BSc Accounting and Finance degree said, “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our programme has been accredited once more by the ACCA for five years, starting on 1 January 2023, taking us to the end of 2027.   It’s also great news for our students to be able to gain another exemption, which means we’ve reached the maximum number of ACCA exemptions allowed. With these exemptions, our graduates only need to pass four more units to complete the ACCA qualification, helping them become one of the most sought-after finance professionals our fast-changing world needs.”

The 13 subjects and exams of ACCA are divided into three levels: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills & Strategic Professional. Our students will get full exemption from the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills levels. They only have to complete the Strategic Professional level.
