Department of Humanities and Social Sciences

Richmond’s Department of Social Sciences and Humanities offers a comprehensive and globally focused education that empowers students to critically engage with the world’s most pressing social, political, and cultural issues. The department emphasises developing analytical, research, and communication skills, providing students with a strong foundation in international relations, political science, history, and psychology. Through internships, study abroad opportunities, and exposure to global perspectives, graduates are well-equipped for careers in fields such as government, international organisations, academia, and non-profit sectors, prepared to make meaningful contributions to the world.

Accreditations and Memberships

Our BA (Hons) Psychology students can become members of the only Psi Chi chapter in the UK, the International Honor Society in Psychology, which aims to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship, and to advance the science of psychology
