Fractured Frame Short Film shot using Richmond Studio
Author: Richmond American University London
Last week, we welcomed a film crew to our Film & Photography studio to shoot their short film, Fractured Frame.
Natalie Lauren, writer, producer, co-director, and actor of Fractured Frame, and her crew used Richmond’s Cove Studio for their interior shooting. Last October, Natalie won the West London Film Festival’s pitching competition. Her prize was a day’s use of our Film & TV Studio, with access to our full kit and tech support. “The script was written specifically for the space,” she revealed, after viewing the studio with us.
The film is a visceral, psychological short that plunges viewers into the fractured psyche on an actress confronting dissociation, trauma, and the relentless pressures of performance. “I want Fractured Frame to explore a very private and internal experiences, which is difficult to articulate and even harder for someone to empathise with – hallucination and depersonalisation,” she said. “The intention is to create something short and succinct, that has the level of ferocity and intensity you would expect from psychological trauma.”
Our Film & Photography Studio will be a rentable space in the coming months, with a launch planned in April, available for anyone who has need of a kitted out studio for photography, film, TV, and more.
Richard Bevan, our Programme Director for Film and Photography, told us about hosting the Fractured Frame crew. “It was fantastic experience for both staff and students to see our studio being used by a team of professionals coming from industry. We’re excited to see the film in the coming months and see our facilities on the big screen.”
The film is projected to be out this summer.
