Disability Confident Level 1 Accreditation Achieved by HR Team
Author: Richmond American University London
We are proud to announce that the HR team at Richmond has achieved the Disability Confident Committed (Level 1) accreditation – an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to cultivating an inclusive, accessible workplace.
The Disability Confident scheme, run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), aims to help employers attract, recruit, retain and develop colleagues with disabilities or long-term health conditions. By making our processes more accessible and committing to ongoing improvement, we not only open doors to a wider pool of talent but also demonstrate that diversity, equity & inclusion are more than just words at Richmond. By signing up to the scheme, we have committed to five core pledges:
- Ensuring our recruitment process is accessible
- Communicating job opportunities in ways that reach disabled people
- Offering interviews to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria;
- Providing reasonable adjustments both during recruitment and for existing staff; and
- Supporting colleagues who acquire a disability or long-term health condition to remain in work.
“This achievement is an important step for us. It proves our commitment to being a welcoming and accessible place to work,” Jaz Crocker, Head of Human Resources, tells us. “But we view this as just the beginning of the work! We’re excited to build on this foundation, embed inclusive practices, and continue growing in how we support all colleagues.”
We heartily congratulate the Human Resources team for their efforts and this great success. Look out for the awarded badge across our website and social media!
