Following the recognition of Richmond American University London’s commitment to supporting student success in the 2022 Independent HE Awards, Professor Mary Robert (Dean of Learning and Teaching) and Dr Alex Harden-Way (Associate Vice President for Student Affairs) presented their work on creating a whole-University approach to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).
Titled ‘The Force Awakens: JEDI Frameworks and Institutional Change’, the pair virtually addressed overseas partners on 11th March at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Conference held in Las Vegas and virtually. The AAC&U is a global membership organisation dedicated to advancing the democratic purposes of undergraduate liberal education.
The AAC&U 2023 Conference on Diversity, Equity, and Student Success: Can We Handle Truth? afforded the opportunity for the University to broaden its reach and impact, as well as solidify best practice closer to home.
This US conference also follows on from Richmond’s conferences focussing on Accessibility and Inclusion led jointly by the Student Affairs team and the Centre for Learning and Teaching.
