Students voted recently for the newest Executive Board of the University’s Student Government Association (SGA).
The SGA represents all students at Richmond American University London in areas such as academics, student welfare, estates, and the overall mission of the University. Throughout the year, they also organise events and campaigns to help all students make the most of university life.
President

Anthony Mata
As President, Anthony is responsible for leading the Student Government and ensuring that students, faculty, and staff are able to communicate, cooperate, and solve problems efficiently and successfully.
“I joined the SGA because I wanted to make the university a more enjoyable and exciting place to study. I also wanted to create a more open, communicative, and recognizable Student Government so that students, faculty, and staff all feel comfortable talking to us.”
Executive Vice President of Academics

Shelby Whiteaker
As Executive VP of Academics, Shelby is responsible for representing students in all academic matters and manages the Student Senate.
“I joined to improve the school atmosphere at Richmond and make it feel more like the colleges back home in the States.”
Vice President of Campus Life

Jay Patel
As VP of Campus Life, Jay is responsible for fostering a vibrant and engaging campus environment including planning and executing a wide range of events. A key aspect of this role is advocating for students’ needs related to campus life and working closely with university administration to address concerns and improve the student experience.
“I joined the SGA because I believe that a strong campus community is essential to a positive college experience. My goal this year is to amplify student voices and make our campus a more inclusive and dynamic place for everyone.”
Co-Events Coordinator

Mackenzie Pion
As the Co-Events Coordinator, Mackenzie is responsible for planning the winter ball, pub quiz/bingo, and other events hosted by the SGA.
“I joined the SGA because I saw a disconnect in our student body and wanted to help create a stronger community through planning events everyone would enjoy.”

Margie Blair
As the Co-Events Coordinator, Mackenzie is responsible for planning the winter ball, pub quiz/bingo, and other events hosted by the SGA.
“I joined SGA to get more involved with Richmond from a leadership standpoint. My goal for this year is to plan a successful cultural fair!”
PR and Communications Officer

Ashton Graus
As the PR and Communications Officer, Ashton is responsible for creating and promoting content for events and other SGA related announcements. This includes managing the SGA social media accounts and sending out emails to the whole student body.
“I initially applied for this position because I loved the idea of helping promote events for students and building a bigger sense of community at Richmond. In my time at SGA, it has been amazing to watch the number of attendees continue to grow at our events and to watch students of all backgrounds come together.”
Treasurer

Hiba Oudia
As Treasurer, Hiba is responsible for managing the budget, tracking expenses, approving funding requests, and working closes with the Finance Team to allocate resources efficiently.
“I joined the SGA to help create a more dynamic student experience by making the most of our budget. My goal this year is to optimize our financial planning by finding cost-effective alternatives for certain expenses, which will allow us to host more events and foster a more connected and engaged student body in Richmond.”
Secretary

Isha Tiwari
As Secretary, Isha is responsible for prompt meeting agendas and minutes, alongside assisting with work that other members need.
“I wanted to be a part of planning amazing events for fellow students!”
