Hi! My name is Bella Hoffman and I am currently on a study abroad for the Fall semester at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Murdoch is a very diverse university, much like Richmond, with students from all over the world. I am a third-year student at Richmond and study Fashion Management & Marketing.
My time abroad so far has been an absolute amazing experience and I am so grateful for what Australia has shown me so far. There are beautiful coastlines, great places to eat, and gorgeous desert sunsets.
Recently, I went on a 10-day road trip exploring Western Australia with a few of the other study abroad students who are currently at Murdoch. I got to see dingoes, emus, kangaroos, and various sorts of wildlife as we travelled through more rural parts. It was such an eye-opening experience as I got to connect more with those who I spent the trip with and discover more about Australia. I also had the opportunity to snorkel with manta rays, which was absolutely life changing.
While Australia has a very different environment than London, it has given me a greater sense of appreciation for wildlife and nature. I can appreciate the beauty that surrounds me more and can take this to apply to my life when I return to Richmond. I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to come to Murdoch. If any of you are thinking about studying abroad, do it! It will change your life and open your eyes to learning about new culture.
