On 13th December, students from Dr Max Carocci’s BA course AVC6101 – Working in the Art World presented a series of group projects as part of their assessment. These projects allowed students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world situations and engage the wider university community.
One standout initiative was an art therapy session aimed at helping stressed students unwind through colour therapy and visual analysis. Open to all, the session attracted participants from across campus, including non-art departments, demonstrating its broad appeal. The event was well-organised, with a marketing campaign ensuring strong attendance.
Dr Max Carocci reflected on the success of the projects: “This experimental course encouraged students to step outside the classroom and bring creative ideas to life. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them not only engage their peers but also collect data that will help inform future creative initiatives.”
In addition, one group gathered and analysed feedback from participants, producing valuable insights that will inform future projects. This combination of creativity, collaboration, and data collection highlighted the students’ ability to apply their skills in meaningful ways.
Overall, the event was a success, and we are proud of the students’ hard work and creativity. Their efforts not only benefited our university community but also prepares them for future professional opportunities in the art world.
