Richmond partners with Brentford Canal Festival for community celebration
Author: Richmond American University London

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with the Brentford Canal Festival, taking place on Saturday, June 21st, from 12-6pm.
The Brentford Canal Festival, organized by Simon Inc., promises a fantastic day out for everyone. It’s a free-to-access event offering a wonderful opportunity to meet local contacts, explore the picturesque Brentford area, and discover the diverse range of activities and attractions it has to offer, including boat tours, live music, games, a photography competition, kids zone, guided walks of the canal, floating market, and street food with plenty of options.
While many generous sponsors, including Ballimore, Hounslow Council, and local arts organizations, provide crucial financial support, we are proud to be a sponsorship partner through in-kind contributions and promotions of the events. Richmond will also have a stand at the festival.
“The Brentford Canal Festival has always been a celebration of what is great about Brentford and our neighbouring communities,” says Simon Cohen, one of the organisers of the festival and head of Simon Inc. “And that is why we are so thrilled to have Richmond – based just up the road from Brentford – working with us this year.”

A team of student volunteers will be on hand to assist with the smooth running of the festival, and some of our photography students will capture photos and videos. One of our students will work as the festival’s Digital Video Worker, who will help with promotion in the led up to and post event.
“We are a small team organising a rapidly growing festival, so it is great that students from the university have come on board to help us with our marketing campaign and with filming and photography on the day,” Simon continues. “Our festival is all about bringing the community together and this partnership is a fabulous example of that in the most practical and helpful way.”
We encourage all students, staff, and local residents to come along on June 21st and enjoy what promises to be a fantastic day by the canal!
