Record numbers for studying abroad opportunities this year

This Fall, Richmond American University London will send its largest cohort of outgoing students overseas to study a semester or year at one of our partner universities.

Although Richmond is renowned internationally as a study abroad destination itself, over the past few years the International Programmes team has been working hard to develop exchange opportunities for its own degree students to study abroad.

As of May 2023, Richmond has signed agreements with over 45 institutions in 25 different countries and across every continent. According to Maggie Burton, International Programmes’ Global Mobility Officer:

“Studying abroad is such a fantastic, life-changing experience, I am thrilled so many students have applied this year, especially with the added financial support for our students through the Turing Scheme.”

Richmond was excited to learn that it was awarded grant funding from the Turing Scheme in 2022-23 to assist students with their semesters abroad, with three of our students being successful in gaining funding. Maggie has applied again for funding for 2023-24 and we hope to hear good news in June from the Turing Scheme, the UK’s global programme to study and work abroad.
