Inspiration and emotion from speakers at our Postgraduate Graduation Day
Author: Richmond American University London
Congratulations again to all of our Masters students on their Graduation! It was great to see you on Saturday.
We’d like to say thank you to two graduating students in particular for their wonderful speeches.
Emily Nan Phillips hails from San Antonio, Texas and came to Richmond to complete her MBA after previous studies in Musical Theatre at West Texas A&M University and an MFA in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Emily is hoping to pursue a career in Talent Management or TV and Film casting in London. She also plans for a PhD in Organisational Psychology focusing on the effects of Emotional Intelligence training in drama schools.
Simangaliso Gatsi Gumende also shared her kind thoughts with us as she graduated with an MA in International Relations from Richmond.
Simangaliso has been instrumental in managing campaigns to build two rural Mozambican Primary Schools to accommodate 5,000 students and collected books from New York to start reading centres in Maputo. As we heard, her goal for her Richmond degree was to gain skills to realise her full potential and operate with confidence within the United Nations.
Thank you to both Emily and Simangaliso.
