Author: Richmond American University London
Associate Professor of International Relations Noga Glucksam recently attended the 2024 European International Studies Association Pan-European Conference (EISA-PEC) on International Relations, an annual event that brings together interdisciplinary scholars working in the field of international studies.
The conference provided an opportunity for Richmond American University London to be represented in a global academic forum, with Associate Professor Glucksam presenting her latest research and engaging with colleagues from around the world.
At the conference, Associate Professor Glucksam presented two papers. The first, “Faith, Grief and Imagination: Lessons for a Post-Liberal Peace from the Ground Up”, was part of a panel on Rethinking Peacebuilding: Local Dynamics and Global Interactions. The second paper, “Oppressive Rightness: A Rethinking of Victimhood and Power in Contemporary Global Activism”, was presented in the panel on (Symbolic) Borders, Law and Violence. Both papers received positive feedback, which will inform their development into journal articles.
Reflecting on the experience, Associate Professor Glucksam noted,
“The conference was a great opportunity to gather insightful feedback and engage with the latest research in the field. The input I received will be invaluable as I continue refining these projects.”
In addition to presenting her work, Associate Professor Glucksam chaired a panel titled Contemporary Challenges and Innovations in Peace and Conflict Resolution, which led to productive discussions. These conversations are expected to result in a workshop focusing on time perceptions in conflict resolution, and a potential special issue publication is also being explored.
The conference also provided an opportunity to form new research partnerships and exchange education-based ideas with colleagues from other institutions, which Associate Professor Glucksam believes will positively impact her teaching and future research.
