Tried & True: Damien

We’d like to share with you how students at Richmond American University London become tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

But don’t take our word for it – let our students and alumni tell you themselves about their experience of studying at Richmond and its impact on their life and career.

The first of our alumni to take part in a new series of our ‘Tried & True’ initiative is Damien Ashton-Wellman, who graduated in 2017 with a Major in Communications and a Minor in Film Studies, as well as being a former President of the Student Government Association. Damien is now London Vice-Chair of the Royal Television Society and works in account management for Visual Data Media.

Damien said:
I found my voice and passion for what I do at Richmond. The unique liberal arts degree helped me blend my interests in business and the creative, and has since given me maximum flexibility in my career.

Damien started his career in documentary film, before moving into marketing and B2B events.

At the heart of the UK and Ireland’s screen industries, the Royal Television Society is the world’s oldest educational charity for the promotion, discussion, and analysis of the art and science of television, in all its forms.

Visual Data is a global provider of post-production, localisation, and digital media supply chain technology, helping Hollywood’s largest studios and indie distributors.

Look out for more of our students and alumni over the coming months as they share how Richmond is either shaping their lives currently or helped enhance their career opportunities.
