‘The Impact of Megatrends’ explored in new book by Richmond Professor
Dr Carola Hieker, Associate Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at Richmond, has just had a book published by Oxford: Palgrave Macmillan.
‘The Impact of Megatrends on the Future of Leadership Development’, reflects critically on the future of leadership development and what is missing in traditional approaches. It is based on interviews with leadership development suppliers, HR professionals and leaders, as well as the authors’ industry experience. Dr Hieker’s book has been co-written with John Pringle, who runs a Leadership Development Consultancy and has over 25 years of experience working with organisations from many sectors across the world.
Dr Hieker said, “I’m delighted to see this book published, which will be highly relevant for students at Richmond on programmes such as the MBA. We felt there was a real need to highlight that leadership development has not changed significantly in the last decades: nobody seems to be disrupting the disrupters. Leadership development needs to evolve if leaders are to deal successfully with the disruptive challenges they face today – such as climate change, global health emergencies and digitisation.”
