Summer School students gain insight from British MP in Houses of Parliament

Richmond International Summer School students were delighted to attend a masterclass session at the Houses of Parliament with MP Jon Cruddas, a Labour Party politician who has served as a Member of Parliament since 2001, first for Dagenham and then for the successor constituency of Dagenham and Rainham.  The session was organised by Dr Eunice Goes as part of the ‘British Politics: Inside Parliament’  course at Richmond International Summer School, which runs in both the Fall and Spring.  This was one of 10 sessions that students have in this module.

Dr Goes, Professor of Politics at Richmond, The American International University in London, said, “It was a great privilege for our Summer School students to visit Westminster recently, they all found it a fascinating experience.  Jon Cruddas provided them with a real insight on current events at the Houses of Parliament, which is experiencing one of the most turbulent times in British political history.”
