Matrix is an ‘incubator’ initiative that has been launched by Richmond Business School, it is available to all Richmond’s students, staff and alumni.
Led by Hamad Khan, Programme Director of International Business and Entrepreneurship, the incubator is available as a service to provide students with help and advice in establishing a start-up business.
Entitled ‘Matrix’, the incubator takes its name from the Oxford English Dictionary definition of the word which means, ‘The cultural, social, or political environment in which something develops’.
Through Matrix, the team offers the following services to students:
- Advice and feedback
- Accelerator programmes
- Networking opportunities
- Funding opportunities through external investors
- Competitions and workshops
MEET THE TEAM
HAMAD KHAN
An academic with 14 years’ experience in FMCG, banking and the services sector who is also interested in education, advertising and marketing, Associate Professor Khan devised Matrix after meeting passionate and talented students who needed guidance to bring their business ideas to fruition.
JADE BOUHMOUCH
Jade is part of the finance team at Google, where he helps UK leadership set financial and business strategy. Before joining Google, he was a senior analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, where he managed investment strategies. Jade has an MBA from INSEAD and completed his undergraduate degree at Richmond.
INMA RAMOS
After advising corporates and governments around the world on corporate finance matters including IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, bond issues and corporate governance for two decades, Inma is currently an Associate Professor on Business, Management and Law at Richmond. Inma will provide expertise to legal matters about businesses, patents and international law.
NICOLE KURRASCH
Nicole is from San Juan Capistrano, California, USA. She is a BA student in Business Management: Entrepreneurship at Richmond University, class of 2020. She is an active Senate Member of RAIUL Student Government and represents Business Management Majors. Nicole has a passion for writing and entrepreneurship and hopes to enter the publishing industry after graduation.
LONDON TAYLOR
London Taylor is an entrepreneur, researcher, consultant & author with a passion for business innovation. With a diversified enterprise portfolio stretching across continents and industries, he is proud to use his experience to help foster a creative business culture at Richmond. He will be an incoming Senior at Richmond of BA International Relations.
CHELSEA POMPADUR
Chelsea is originally from Connecticut, USA, though has lived in the UK for a number of years. She also worked for a corporate technology start-up accelerator managing partnerships and outreach, where she grew passionate about tech for good and encouraging entrepreneurship and digital skills in young people.
