Recent graduate shares her creative career experience
Here’s a post by fantastic BA Art History & Visual Culture graduate, Matilde Tariello, who now works at Artsy! Thank you for this contribution Matilde!
“I am a very proud BA AVC Alumni. I have been working at Artsy for two years now and it’s an awesome company, truly determined to make art and the art market more accessible, global and transparent. I look after a portfolio of Artsy partners and galleries in the UK, Middle East and Italy.
For my role, I have needed all the experience which I got at Richmond, both the more practical side – like writing wall labels for our MA students end of year exhibition, or writing exhibition reviews and articles for Richmond’s magazine as well as all the academic aspects.
During all my conversations with galleries and directors I constantly refer to classes I did at Richmond like Art in Context, Visual Culture, Museums and Galleries, to mention a few. I found the liberal arts system such a great asset which has given me lots of insights and transferable knowledge that have helped me massively in my career so far. Not to mention all the research work and presentations and public speaking which are now daily tasks for my role.
I have truly enjoyed my time at Richmond and I feel very lucky to have been taught by great professors and being able to study art in a city like London, which is so rich in museums, exhibitions and galleries, is such a privilege.“
