New film installations supported by Richmond to feature in Scottish exhibition
Richmond Associate Professor Richard Bevan will be presenting two new film installations within a solo exhibition at Cairn Gallery, Pittenweem, near St Andrews in Scotland.
The exhibition, which will run from 16th June to 4th August with an opening event on Saturday 15th June, has been generously supported by a research grant from Richmond, The American International University in London.
Both works for the exhibition use film as elements within sculptural installations that invite viewers to quietly contemplate images while subtly participating in the works.
One explores a scene from Robert Bresson’s seminal feature film Au Hasard Balthazar, while the other uses material filmed in Japan during a research trip funded by Arts Council England and the British Council. Writer Tamsin Clark has been commissioned to produce a short text to accompany the works.
