Louise Byrne, Assistant Professor of International Journalism, has been working on the five-part BBC Radio 4 series How Syria Change the World. The series asks if the Syrian conflict means that the idea of liberal interventionism is dead. It also explores the consequences of the Syrian refugee crisis and how the conflict has exposed deep sectarian loyalties in the region. Finally, it discusses how the war is shaping geopolitics, and the rise, fall and legacy of the self-styled Islamic State.

You can listen to all five programmes in the series here.
