London is Open: Cultural Diplomacy post Brexit
Richmond will be hosting a conference in the Young Street Lecture Hall examining Cultural Diplomacy post-Brexit, on Monday 27 March 2017. This event is supported by the IVAC and SPG research centres as well with the generous assistance of the Gul Tokay and Birgan Iseri funds.
London is Open: Cultural Diplomacy post-Brexit will be a fast-paced, provocative and challenging afternoon of talks and debate, which brings together those working at the coal face of cultural diplomacy and art practice in increasingly uncertain times in London to discuss and respond to the following key questions:
In what ways can art promote the idea of London as an open and cosmopolitan mega-city and propose solutions for community cohesion?
What role does Cultural Diplomacy play in addressing these issues, fostering dialogue and international cooperation?
It will include participants from Art on the Underground, Battersea Arts Centre, the British Council, the Embassy of Sweden, Goldsmiths University, the Greater London Authority, SOAS & the University of Westminster.
