“Just as good as Hay – and a lot nearer!”

Chiswick Book Festival, 6-13 September

It’s all happening in Chiswick in September.

The Chiswick Book Festival, which is taking place at 10 venues around Chiswick from 6-13 September, is a great opportunity to meet some top authors for a week of history, poetry, biography, creative writing, fiction, thrillers, food, wine, politics and children’s books.

To give you a flavour of some of the celebrities taking part, they will include children’s author Jacqueline Wilson, former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, BBC newsreader Clive Myrie, British chef Nadiya Hussain and television and radio presenter Chris Tarrant.

Highlights of the week include a Chiswick Book Festival Quiz Evening taking place at the George IV pub, Chiswick High Road, 7pm on Wednesday 13th September.  For £5 a person, you can join quizmaster and former bookseller Gary Wigglesworth (The Book Lover’s Quiz Book 2) for a fun, brain-teasing session in a pub!

The Chiswick Book Festival is a non-profit-making community event, raising money for St Michael & All Angels Church, which hosts many of the events, and three charities.
