Former Richmond student speaks to BBC on UK labour market

Sanjay Raja, who studied BA Economics at Richmond from 2008-2011, spoke to BBC World News recently to talk about the UK labour market.

Sanjay is the Chief UK Economist for Deutsche Bank, having previously worked in consulting and the public sector.  An experienced economist specialising in macroeconomic research and forecasting, Sanjay is also a CFA charter holder and Fellow of the RSA. His work is covered extensively by the media, on topics such as growth, productivity, the labour market, and fiscal and monetary policy.

While studying at Richmond, Sanjay led the University’s first ever student-led international economic development project in Sierra Leone aimed at fostering local economic growth and development. Upon graduation, Sanjay then went on to do an MSc in Economic Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is currently undertaking doctoral research at the University of Cambridge with a focus on UK regional productivity.
