Biography
Julie joined Richmond in January 2014, after working at the University of Bath for 4 years. Before that, Julie was an instructor at the University of Paris-Dauphine in France, where she completed her PhD in Finance in December 2008. As a PhD student, she spent one semester in the Department of Finance at Georgia State University in the USA. Moreover, Julie is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy since December 2012.

Research Interest & Expertise:
Julie’s research interests cover empirical finance, behavioral finance and economics, international business, Islamic finance, socially responsible investment, management education. Her current research topics include: motives and performance of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in Europe and in emerging markets; confidence, sentiment and behavioural biases in European stock markets; performance evaluation of sin companies (e.g. tobacco manufacturers and alcohol producers) around the world; and use of IT in Higher Education.
