This is your opportunity to join Dr Theano Lianidou, Associate Professor of Management at Richmond, for an exploration of how a leader’s status influences leadership outcomes, such as motivation to lead and perceived leader effectiveness.

The online event being held on Friday 21 October at 2.00pm, which is organised by the Wellbeing Research Centre and will be chaired by Professor Inma Ramos, will focus on an article by Dr Lianidou, ‘Leader Diffuse Status and Leadership Outcomes: Toward an Integrative Framework’to be published in the International Journal of Management Reviews.

As Dr Lianidou explains, “The focus for my article is on the leader’s ‘diffuse status’, so the status derived from demographic (eg gender and race) and physical (eg height and body shape) characteristics. It’s a fascinating topic at the intersection of leadership and diversity which examines stereotypes in leadership and people’s expectations of leaders.
