Chinese Financial System and the Opportunities and Challenges with Europe

With over 20 years’ experience in People’s Bank of China, during which Mme Chen has spent more than 10 years working in London. From 1997 to 1999 and again from 2007 to the present, she has witnessed the development of two world financial crisis, with associated extreme market volatilities, all of which have given her first hand market knowledge and a deep understanding of managing risk. Mrs. Chen has also worked for the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), and the Agricultural Bank of China (UK) Ltd, of which she was the Deputy CEO. Agricultural Bank of China is the 3rd largest bank by asset (2.8 trillion USD) in the world and was included in the list of Global Systemically Important Banks for the first time in 2014.

The lecture includes a talk by Mme Chen, followed by a Question and Answer session. The event is co-organised by Richmond Business School, the Associate Dean for Research and the Centre for Modern Languages.
