Orientation Events Spring 2010

Orientation time, a time when you are all adjusting to your new surroundings in London, Europe’s most exciting and vibrant city! Well, what better ways to acclimatize and see this wonderful city than with these orientation events run by the Student Affairs office?

Below are a number of trips and events which will run throughout the week. Once again places are limited so don’t waste any time in signing up.

Important Information on Tickets and Ticket Collection

Check purchases

Please be aware when booking that some of the events coincide with each other. Check carefully before booking each ticket as we operate a no refund policy.

Print confirmation

Once you have booked all your tickets and are through the checkout, please print out confirmation of these purchases in order to receive your ticket. No confirmation, no ticket!

Ticket collection

You will receive your ticket at the meeting place of the event. For instance if you have purchased a ticket for Wicked on Thursday evening you will receive the ticket when you meet on the steps of Atlantic House at 6.00 pm.

Everyone is looking for love - some in impossible places. Some mourn the love they have lost. Some long for love they are refused. In Illyria love aches and madness rules.

RSC Chief Associate Director Gregory Doran directs a company including Richard Wilson, joining the RSC for the first time to play Malvolio. An award-winning actor and director Richard's recent stage appearances include Whipping It Up, Waiting for Godot and What the Butler Saw. In addition to his role as Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave, Richard's other TV includes the BBC's Merlin.

Welcome to London Boat Party

Friday 15th January 2010

Please note that on line tickets sales close at midnight on Thursday, 14 January. Please pick your ticket up from Student Affairs BEFORE you leave for the party or you will not be allowed entrance to the event!

7.30 pm departure from Temple Pier. The boat will depart at 7.30 pm and will not wait, so please don’t be late. For directions please see Reslife staff in Atlantic House/Main Building.

Note: The bar does not accept cards so please bring plenty of cash

Leave the hustle and bustle of the City to embark a Party Boat and be part of a unique experience! This orientation boat party is a great way for you to get to know your fellow class mates. We hope to see you party seekers dancing the night away to the sounds of the Disco! After you've danced 'til you've dropped there is no better remedy than to go out onto the open deck and view the breath-taking illuminated sights of the London Riviera.

Get to know one of London's most vibrant areas, loved by artists, tourists, freerunners, actors and skateboarders alike. Learn about the fascinating culture, history and architecture of the South Bank, and take in plenty of bizarre and unusual stories that are sure to capture your imagination.

Tower of London

Meet on the front steps of Atlantic House at 12:00 noon
Built in the 1080s explore the wonders of this awesome fortress, and the stories behind them. Classed as a World Heritage Site it is located in central London on the River Thames. The original tower was built in 1078 by William the Conqueror as a fortress, a royal palace and a prison. Since 1303 it has been home to the Crown jewels of the United Kingdom.
