Guidelines & Services

Nearly all the classrooms on campus are equipped with state-of-the-art digital projectors with networked computer and DVD/video inputs. Most classrooms also have integrated sound systems, as well as overhead and slide projectors. A variety of other audio visual equipment is also available on request.

Requesting AV Equipment

To requst AV equipment use the IT/AV Helpline Form. AV equipment to be used by students is only by arrangement through the appropriate faculty and only faculty and staff can submit requests for AV equipment. Faculty and students must never move AV equipment between rooms. The university has experienced much damage to AV equipment as a result of unauthorised movement of equipment. AV equipment and bulbs are expensive and fragile and will break if not handled properly.

Reporting AV Faults
Any faults with AV equipment or materials should be reported as soon as possible using the IT/AV Helpline Form. In the event of an emergency (eg, a problem with equipment during a class), contact your department secretary and they will be able to contact the appropriate site AV Technician to request immediate assistance for you. This service is only available between 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays during semester.

AV Skills Development
The IT & AV Services Department provides AV training and advice on all aspects of the use of equipment for faculty and, where appropriate, students. In particular, if you intend to use equipment regularly or are unfamiliar with the equipment you intend to use, you should contact the IT/AV department via the IT/AV Helpline Form for assistance and advice.
