The First Annual Richmond Model United Nations Conference!

Richmond's Model United Nations club held their very first conference here on campus this past weekend. The majority of the delegates were from outside universities located in the London area such as LSE, Queen Mary and London Metropolitan University.

The opening ceremony was held on Friday in the Mediterranean room where Professor Preslava Stoeva gave a talk to about 35 students gathered to kick off the weekend.

The EU Council, UN High Commission for Refugees, and Shanghai Cooporation Organization were very exciting, challenging and successful committees. The weekend was full of stimulating debate, involving provocative and all-new MUN committees, awards, plus unforgettable social events.

"I hope I speak for the entire RIMUN Secretariat and Richmond MUN Society when I say that a tradition has been started at Richmond University," noted Taylor Riley.

A huge round of thanks goes out specifically to Teodora Boarta and Taylor Riley who were the major players in planning this event. From advertising for the event to building their own website, their determination and perseverance enabled this event to happen.
