The Green Project Works to Clean the River Wandle

The Green Project Crew
On Sunday, April 13th, sixteen Richmond students braved the cold and windy weather to participate in the Green Project's monthly Wandle River Cleanup in Wandsworth. The event gave the students an opportunity to help in the removal of rubbish from one of London’s most polluted rivers. At then end of the day, 67 car tires, 18 mattresses, two large refrigerators, and hundreds of other items were removed!
The river cleanups, sponsored by the Wandle River Trust, are held on the second Sunday of every month. Packed lunches and travel subsidies are provided. For more information, please contact Vasiliki Papadopoulos (F047306@Richmond.ac.uk).
