Richmond Welcomes New President - Dr. Ian D C Newbould

New President Takes Office

Ian Newbould began his tenure at Richmond on July 1st becoming the 5th president in the history of Richmond, the American International University in London. He succeeds Professor Jos Hackforth-Jones who has recently left Richmond to join Sotheby's Institute of Art, London, where she will take up the post of Director at the end of August.

Dr. Newbould joins Richmond from North Carolina Wesleyan College, where he served as President.

Dr. Newbould received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario (Canada), his Master of Arts from the University of Guelph (Canada) and his PhD. from the University of Manchester (England).

He has been accorded numerous honors and awards throughout his career, including a visiting fellowship at Wolfson College Oxford.

Ian and his wife Carla have three children, Adrian, Sophia and Alexandra, and two grandchildren Amelia and Jacobus.
