Richmond Welcomes Interns from China
08/11/2006

Students and staff greet the 51 new Interns from China at Heathrow Airport. (Pictured from left to right are: Perry Stamp, Joseph Lomotey, Heather Campbell, Sandra Beyer, Isaiah Behnke, and Dean Helen Woo.)
New to Kensington campus from October for 19 weeks are 51 post-graduate Internship students mostly from Beijing with a smaller cohort from Hong Kong.
The Interns from China have been busy since their arrival with tours of both campuses, trips to London central, and the city of Cambridge. Other International Richmond students, faculty and administration all report how much they enjoyed collecting the students from Heathrow airport and meeting the new Interns at numerous social receptions. In a recent panel discussion numerous Interns invited Richmond students to visit them in Beijing and Hong Kong.
Dr. McGill, from Student Affairs, said “Everyone knows the next big thing is China. If you know people who are only just like you – then you are not ready for the new century.” Additional events include Halloween celebrations in Covent Garden (and at the Hill campus), a mid-term party, a trip to Stonehenge, the Roman city of Bath, a Christmas party in London and, of course, the Chinese New Year!
Keep your eye out for more events with the Intern students and contact the Internship office for more information. www.richmond.ac.uk
