Richmond Students Visit with the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea
The highlight of the evening included a wonderful and humorous address by the current Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, CLLR Tim Ahern, in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Kensington Town Hall in London.
Students were welcomed by the Chairman of AIFS and Chancellor of Richmond University, Sir Cyril Tayler, GBE, the university president Dr. Norman Smith, and Richmond faculty including the provost Dr. Jos Hackforth-Jones.
The real treat came when students hear the Mayor’s humorous thoughts on being Mayor of a Royal borough, his role with visiting dignitaries, the historical significance of the borough, and some of the personalities of the more than 2500 notable notables who have lived and do live in Kensington and Chelsea.
Truly a memorable event for all who attended!
