Richmond Societies welcome US Government official

The Richmond International Society and Richmond Diplomatic Society were pleased to welcome Kristina Kvien, Head of the Economics Department from the US Embassy in London on Friday, September 30th.

Talking to a group of more than 30 students, Ms Kvien described the inner workings of the National Security Council, a post which she held from 2008 to 2010, its role in Government and how it first came into existance. Ms Kvien also answered a number of questions from the floor on US diplomacy and how to get started in a diplomatic career.
