Richmond's US accreditation renewed to 2016

The University has just been notified by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education that its accreditation has been renewed, without 'requirements' for correction, for the maximum renewal term of ten years. This reaccredidation followed a routine once-every-decade on-site evaluation which occurred in April. In their report upon completion of the three-day evaluation, the assessment team concluded that the University satisfactorily fulfilled all 14 of the Middle States 'standards of excellence. In the report, the evaluation team 'commended' the University for 'living its mission' adding their view that Richmond 'is well position for a distinctive leadership role across the global higher education landscape.' The assessment team stated they 'were impressed by the faculty's qualifications and professional dedication' adding that the faculty was 'intensely committed to the institution's international missions of global leadership in an interdependent world.' The Middle States Commission is one of the USA’s regional accreditation bodies that collective represent the top level of American higher education accreditation. Middle States' oversight includes all the colleges and universities in the Middle Atlantic region of the US including universities like Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Penn and NYU.
