Dr. Michele Cohen is Awarded a Fellowship at Yale University

Dr. Michele Cohen, Professor of Humanities here at Richmond University, has been awarded the very prestigious Roger Eddy Fellowship at the Lewis Walpole Library at Yale University to pursue her research for a book on the Cultural History of Education in 18th Century England. This specific project will relate most specifically to her HST/PHL 277 European Enlightenment course.
Cohen completed her PhD at London University. Just some of her many publications include Fashioning Masculinity: National Identity and Language in the Eighteenth Century (1996), English Masculinities (co-edited with Tim Hitchcock) (1999), articles on the Grand Tour and the gentleman, on learning French in the eighteenth-century England, and on a variety of eighteenth-century educational debates. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and has recently been elected to the committee of the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies.
