The Chancellor, Sir Cyril Taylor, and President, Dr Ian Newbould, were pleased to welcome representatives of independent schools as well as Embassy diplomats and distinguished guests at an Open Day held at the Richmond Hill campus on Saturday, 19 June 2010. The University was particularly honoured to welcome two mayors to this event, Counsellor David Marlow of the London Borough of Richmond and Counsellor James Husband of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
A key element of this Open Day was a talk given by Mr Anthony McClaran, Chief Executive of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), on the subject of ‘Views on the future of UK higher education’.
The event also included campus tours led by senior students after which guests were invited to join the University’s Trustees and Governors and senior members of staff for a reception and luncheon.
