Richmond Model UN Attends Oxford Conference
The Richmond Model United Nations Society attended the fifth annual Oxford International Model United Nations Conference (Oximun) this November with great success. The Richmond delegation represented Mexico, Angola, Chad and Estonia, and debated on a variety of topics such as the human rights of terror suspects, high level of corruption in African states, tariff reduction of manufactured goods and the question of pharmaceutical drugs needed in the developing world. Three of the Richmond delegates received honourable mention awards (Mark Sleboda, Andy Terrell, Jackie Feldman) out of over 400 delegates, continuing Richmond’s success at Model UN conferences throughout the UK.
Richmond sends over thirty delegates to various Model UN conferences throughout the UK and Europe. We annually attend conferences at Oxford University, Cambridge University and University of London and also plan to attend the week-long Geneva Conference in the spring.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Richmond Model UN Society or are interested in attending any of the conferences, please contact Jackie Feldman at jackie.feldman@students.richmond.ac.uk
