Who are the Invisible Children?

Filmmakers in Uganda
In association with International Night 2009, Invisible Children (IC) is a non-profit organization aimed to raise awareness about child soldiering in Northern Uganda and to rebuild secondary schools torn down by 21 years of civil war in their Schools for Schools program.

Children in an Internally Displaced Persons camp,
many of whom do not have the finances to go to school.
The organization has been very successful in the U.S. and have inspired hundreds of schools across the nation to raise in total over 3.4 million dollars for schools in Uganda.
This year, IC is embarking on their first ever international tour covering the US, Mexico, Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand, Australia and Northern Ireland.

On February 25th, Invisible Children representatives will be showing their brand new film on Richmond campus, and also talking about their big event, Rescue Me, taking place in London on April 25th.
The other 8 countries IC is touring are also participating in the event on the same day.
On April 4th, the International Night Committee will be donating proceeds to IC. "We chose IC because we feel that it is a charity that is really in tune with our generation," committee head Lyaila Mufti said. "Their concept on which the charity was based was extremely inspiring and really made us want to become involved and help in any way we could."
Students have formed a group, the IC Crew, to support these efforts by raising money for Schools for Schools. The group has lined up several creative fundraisers for the semester - their biggest being a rave involving other colleges around London also supporting IC.
