14/12/2010

Dom Alessio, Professor of History and Director of the Study abroad programme, has just published a new article with Routledge’s Journal of Postcolonial Writing. Entitled “From body snatchers to mind snatchers: Indigenous science fiction, postcolonialism, and Aotearoa/New Zealand history”, the research reflects Dom’s interests in imperialism, the Pacific and Science Fiction.
The article draws attention to the significance of the genre in Aotearoa/New Zealand and the contribution made by the Indigenous writers Witi Ihimaera (from Aotearoa/New Zealand) and Albert Wendt (Samoa).
