Richmond Students Give Back to Those in Need

The month of February was designated “The Haiti Campaign Month" here at Richmond University.

The Community Service Club held their annual Valentine’s Day Auction on Thursday 12 February at a local bar, The Bull. Over 20 students auctioned themselves off and prizes for the highest bidders and auctionees included bottles of wine, Odeon movie dollars and Wagamama vouchers.

Following this success, the Christian Fellowship Society, Community Service Club, the Melting Pot, Richmond International Society, The Green Project, the Finance Society, and members of Student Affairs and ResLife held a charity dinner in Kensington on Saturday 20 February. On the menu were pancakes, crepes, cookies, four delicious soups from different parts of the world, and some finger sandwiches such as the muffuleeta- a sandwich of New Orleans.

These combined events raised over £900 which was donated to the UNICEF Haiti Appeal. Congratulations to everyone involved with these great efforts to help those in need!
