COBRA SPONSORS BEER FOR ALUMNI CAREER PANEL

Cobra Beer generously donated beer for the refreshments during the networking session after the successful alumni panel on Thursday, 5 February, 2009. A record number of undergraduate and MA students attended the discussion about how to get your career started after graduation.
The alumni who came to campus after their working day to participate in the panel were:
Claudia Cameron, 2008 BA International Business, is working in the Management Trainee Program with British American Tobacco.
Kelly Caruso, 2006 BA Business Admin-Finance, is now working in the Finance Dept Corporate MIS Team for Nomura.
Reema Fraitis, 1994 BA International Business, is working as Executive Assistant to the Director & Founder of Gift-Library, a new shopping web site.
Jennifer Henneman, 2007 MA Art History, is working in two jobs: in one she is Marketing & Metalwork Section Administrator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the other she is working in recruitment for Hult Business School.
Goobi Kyazze, 1998 BA Communications, works as Technical Support Engineer (Online Mapping Division)for Microsoft.
Danielle Nunez, 2009 MA Art History, has completed an internship and has been hired as Rentals Manager for The October Gallery.
David Scholtz, 1999 BA Psychology, works as Senior Associate for Ariadne Capital.
The panel was moderated by Deirdre Simpson, the Director of Alumi Relations, and questions ranged from how to develop a network of connections to help start and develop your career? to how much the degree subject matters in getting a job? Alumni answers gave advice, specific suggestions. They demonstrated by their own decisions and careers to date, the importance of knowing your strengths, interests and abilities when seeking work. By the work each alum had chosen, it was clear that they were doing what they loved and enjoyed the most. Helpful advice indeed.
The networking session after the panel brought students and alumni together cheered along by Cobra Beer. We thank them for this donation.
