Professor Cohen presents paper at the Restoration to Reform Faculty Seminar, Oxford
02/12/2011
Monday, 28 November 2011, Professor Michèle Cohen presented a paper at the Restoration to Reform Faculty Seminar in Oxford. Zapryan Dumbalski, Richmond alumnus Spring 2011 and currently studying for an MSc at Oxford, also attended.
Professor Cohen’s paper entitled, 'Language and Conversation in Eighteenth-Century Nationalism and Domesticity' was well received and the questions from the audience were searching and interesting.
Following the presentation, wine glass in hand, Professor Cohen took the opportunity to ask Zapryan how he was getting on at Oxford. "Very intense, but I love it", he said. He also added how well he had been prepared for the work as a History Major at Richmond and that he had already obtained an excellent mark for his first essay. We wish Zapryan every success for the future.
